Architectural Bent Glass

Accura has the ability to produce bent annealed glass and laminated glass in sizes ranging to 78” x 140” and thicknesses of 3mm (1/8”) to 25mm (1”)

Our strength lies in custom, limited production bending; but we also have the resources to manage large volume orders at substantial savings.

Bent Glass: Bent glass is produced in our proprietary high-tech ovens, in custom fabricated moulds by slowly heating the glass to approximately 600°C. The glass is then allowed to soften and embraces the shape of the mould. The glass is then slowly cooled to avoid any internal stress. The mould itself plays a very important role in bent glass manufacturing because it determines the quality and angle of the curve. Samples

Custom Laminated Glass

Laminated glass is a combination of two or more glass sheets with one or more interlayers of resin. It is manufactured by pouring liquid resin into the cavity between two sheets of glass which are held together until the resin cures. In case of breakage, the interlayer holds the fragments together and continues to provide resistance to the passage of persons or objects. Laminated glass is considered to be safety glass under the various building codes and international glass standards.

The specialists at Accura are capable of producing a wide range of colours in addition to laminating various materials such as fabrics, metals and graphics between two (or more) “lites” of glass. Samples

U.V. (Ultra-Violet) Bonding

U.V. Bonding is a technologically advanced method of glass assembly. It involves the use of completely invisible specialized adhesives that offer high strength, low tension at the joint and optimal resistance to moisture.

U.V. Bonding allows designers and manufacturers the ability to create elegant and unique creations that appear to defy the conventional laws of gravity. It is fast becoming the glass assembly method of choice for designers and architects as well as furniture and store fixture manufacturers. Samples
